I will not touch Vista. Unless absolutely forced. I am most certainly skeptical. Of course, that's what I said when XP came out. Vista doesn't have a lot of the features it originally would have boasted though. Linux will work just fine for me, thanks.

I wont touch Vista either.... for the following reasons.

1. Every new version of Windows is more crap and insecure then the previous version.

2. Microsoft has to much damn money to really care about it anymore.

Only way i would get Vista is if it came with a new computer as a free upgrade, i could always switch back to XP that way if i didnt like it.

It would be interesting to see if it worked to be honest. It makes you wonder if 256 color mode has been made extinct in it.

if all remains as is, i wont be going near vista
At the mo, im looking at upgrading my computer, and perhaps borrowing someones windows cd, so i can play oblivion
but ill prob jsut wait till its running under cedega/wine

however, the whole EU/Antitrust case *may* make windows/vista acceptable
if the outcome is that windows's protocols and apis are properly opened (which i still find doubtfull)

im *realy* hoping on of the following results happen:
MS comply, and open up alot
MS dont comply, and are prevented from trading in EU
MS just stop trading in EU

it would be ok if
MS dont comply, and get forcibly fined (as long as bush dont go and bomb us... lol?)

and it would suck if
MS just get away with it

the ones i hope to happen are unlightly because if ms open up - people will no longer be locked into MS jsut to be compastable, and many people will leave
and if they stop trading, many many more people will switch to linux/OSX - including useres and developers, which would suck massivly for MS, insted of having slightly better competetors with a minute marketshare, they would have massivly better competetors, with a slightly smaller marketshare

i really cant judge vista until its final, but as i said, i will almost certanly not be doing anything than discourging others from switching to it!

Windows 98 was not more insecure than Windows 95.
I'll take a look and see if HoverRace is playable in Windows Vista, though...

I just wish it was more playable in Windows 2000...

Austin:
I think it'll depend a lot on the hardware... For example, even in Windows XP, if you've got a new computer with onboard graphics, it takes a little tinkering to get default 265-colour...
