HCU: About

HoverCAD Unlimited is an open source project to develop a new, better HoverCAD program. The oldest HoverCAD program, written by Richard Langlois and Grokksoft, is a terrible excuse for a CAD editor. It lacks the most important feature a CAD program could - copy / paste. In addition, it had limited functionality, beyond that. It was annoying to make any sort of complicated track. Then, through BaPinney's HrDev (HoverRace Development Project?) HoverCAD Advanced was released. This let users make tracks not from -20 to 20 (height) but all the way from -8000 to 8000. While a huge step forward from the original HoverCAD, there were still many, many annoyances.

HoverCAD Unlimited seeks to remedy these problems and leave room open for further development. By having an open-source project, anyone may contribute, make plug-ins, or optimize code (this is highly encouraged). Current list of features to be implemented:

 -  Copy-Paste functionality
 -  Batch processing of 3D features and rooms
 -  Autosetup of starting positions, if they don't exist when you try to compile
 -  Non-encrypted save files, so it easy to find problems and fix them
 -  Better drawing methods for larger tracks
